Can You Stay on Magento 1?
Magento is one of the most useful and celebrated platforms for online retailers. It is currently used by over 150,000 businesses, many of them leaders in the field and high-powered brands that everyone is familiar with.
And, while using Magento is fairly easy, it’s always a good idea to have a qualified Magento developer to help you make the most of this platform. This is especially true if you’re one of the few who is fighting the shift to Magento 2, an updated version of Magento.
Fortunately, while Magento 2 is an awesome platform, it is still possible to stay on Magento 1 if that’s what you wish to do. The company has said that it will support Magento 1 site designs through June of 2020. So, while you may eventually have to make a switch, you don’t have to yet.
If you wish to maintain Magento 1 site design, we can help. Here at C0MPLÉX1, we are familiar with all versions of Magento. So, not only can we help you with maintaining your Magento 1 site, we can also help you with migration or at least get you familiar with and prepared for the changes that you will see when you do eventually switch.
Reasons to Stay
Magento 2 offers some new features and will be updated regularly, allowing it to constantly improve and get better. For these reasons, it really is a great version to switch over to. However, there are still some reasons that you might choose to stay with the original design for as long as you can.
One of the main reasons people choose to stay is because they aren’t big on change. And, it is true that it can take time for your organization to get used to the new interface and the changed management system of Magento 2. If you don’t want to invest that time in learning something new just yet, then you can work with us to stay on Magento 1 for as long as possible.
You may also wish to stay on Magento 1 if you aren’t ready to handle the expense of migration yet. While we offer migration assistance at very competitive rates, there are some costs involved. Things like buying a new theme, buying new extensions, and also taking the time for migration can all add up to increased costs, which is why you may wish to wait until a later date to migrate.
The Choice is Yours
Ultimately, you are the only person who can decide if and when to migrate to Magento 2.
If you don’t migrate, you’ll enjoy comfort, familiarity, and not having to change your entire site design. However, those who migrate may get increased site loading speeds, new designs and features, and regular upgrades. If that isn’t enough incentive for you to move just yet, though, you don’t have to.
Here at C0MPLÉX1, our goal is not to make all the decisions for you. Instead, we simply let you call the shots and work to support whatever decisions you make. If you want to stay on Magento 1, we can help. If you want to migrate, we can help.
Entrust your decisions to us, and we’ll take care of the rest!
